This tractor restoration has taken quite some time. Over a year in fact. I did, however, manage to make some progress on our Toro 880 lawn tractor restoration over the past few weeks.
Awhile back I thought it would be a good idea to change up my strategy when it comes to posting videos. I typically wait until the conclusion of a project and then edit the video and upload it. If I know it’s going to be a longer video I’ll try to break it up into a couple, but it’s usually at a distinct juncture where I can pause. A natural break, so to speak.
Unfortunately, that has lead to very inconsistent posting on my part. Sometimes projects take longer than I anticipate. Or, I’m not happy with the results and I scrap the idea altogether. Either way, I haven’t been too pleased with my performance when it comes to making videos. That, plus I have been incredibly busy over the past few months.
And then the thought occurred to me that I should just make a video – vlog style – highlighting however much work I did accomplish every week. It was a great idea in theory, and it even worked for a couple of weeks. It’s just not feasible for this project because the time that I have to work on it is just as inconsistent.
Needless to say, making any sort of progress on this tractor restoration has been difficult. I did, however, manage to get most main body parts stripped and primed. As of right now I believe that I have 9 parts left, including the wheel rims. After that all that’s left is the hardware and then we can paint everything.
So yes, this lawn tractor restoration is coming along. Albeit much slower than I would like, but we are making progress.
