A Bible Verse About Perseverance (Hebrews 10:35-36)

Bible Verse about Praise (Psalm 98:1)

A Bible verse about perseverance:

“Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.  You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.”  Hebrews 10:35-36.

It never ceases to amaze me how the Bible can truly impact you on a personal level.  For most of my life I was completely ignorant.  Even though I was raised in a Christian family and I was confirmed as a teenager, I didn’t read the entire Bible until I was 35.

It seemed unlikely that anything written centuries ago could be applicable to me on an individual level.  Regardless of the spiritual depth and impact that it might have, the Bible is a service manual for living.  And this was the part that I didn’t know about.

It’s been said that the Bible is a “living document,” and I really do agree with that.

Sometimes I’ll read a book and it will inspire me.  Usually, I’m reading a book searching for that exact inspiration.  For instance, if I want to become inspired to think more positively, I’ll read The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale.  I’m expecting a certain outcome by reading the book.

By contrast, I don’t necessarily know when or how inspiration will come from the Bible.  I’ll be honest; I don’t get inspiration every day.  But when I do, it’s a good one.

Just as an example, I wanted to try something new with these Scripture postsI had been hand picking the verses to write about because they were special and important to me.  Just for funsies I tried something different tonight and googled the Bible verse of the day.

The top result was Hebrews 10:35-36 from Verse of the Day.  If you recall, I mentioned previously how I am uncertain about how to fulfill the path God has set before me.

To summarize,I don’t know the path or his plans, so how am I to fulfill them?

That thinking has led to unending amounts of frustration for me.  It usually ends up causing me to doubt myself and give up.  Lord knows that I’ve tried different entrepreneurial ideas, different investments, different businesses.  I’ve tried many things, and I usually quit.

That’s why this random daily verse is so powerful.  It literally answers the question I had been asking all along.  Even though I have now read the Bible multiple times, this verse hadn’t stuck out to me previously.

The answer is: Even though I don’t know what my path is, if I persevere and do not give up, that confidence will be rewarded when I have done the will of God.  I don’t have to know what God’s will is or how to accomplish it.  By remaining confident and not quitting I will do so eventually.

By doing so, I will receive what He has promised.  And, He has promised much indeed.
